Work history

Job #1 - Sold newspapers at Ralphs (Pico and Normandy) from the age of 10-22. Clyde sold the Herald. The Herald bought the Express and it became the Herald Express. Clyde gave a route to his sister. She was embarrassed to sell newspapers.

Job #2 - Worked at a Chevron Service Station for a couple of years, performing oil changes and other automotive maintenance.

Job #3 - Worked in the stockroom at Douglas Aircraft for a while.

Job #4 - Worked polishing cars at General Motors. Responsible for buffing the top and sides of each car. Clyde blocked the assembly line once.

Job #5 - Worked for Standard Oil for a couple years.

Job #6 – Clyde sold electronic components for Robert G. Allen. Clyde was his only salesperson for about 15 years. Clyde traveled all over the valley.

Job #7 – Clyde was a buyer at Litton for about 10 years.

Job #8 - Worked at Swen Engineering for a few years.

Job #9 - Worked at another company as buyer, Clyde doesn’t remember the name but it was a holding company for Bausch and Lomb.

Job #10 - Worked for a company that did sailboat things.

Job #11 - Hollywood radio – Clyde was a salesman.

Job #12 - Worked for wholesale electric house.

Job #13 - Worked for a cabinetmaker

Job #14 - He sold Farmers insurance.

Clyde retired when he was 72 years old in 1990. He remains retired today (2006).
